Ted was born Theodore Judd Serios on November 27th, 1918, in Kansas City Missouri. I met Ted for the first time in 1998. Among the many interesting things he shared with me, and perhaps the most compelling, was the way he was informed of who his birth father was.
He was informed by his relative who was a nun, and related to Ted in some way, at his mothers funeral that in fact his father was not Gus Serios the Greek, but Ted's father was John Wolfgang, a German motorcycle cop in Kansas City. In the mid 1990’s I verified that indeed there was a John Wolfgang in the census, and that Ester had not yet met Gus.
Ted was the subject of the 1967 book by Jules Eisenbud entitled “the World of Ted Serios: “Thoughtographic” studies of an extraordinary mind”, and the subject of one of Chris Carter’s (Chris Carter:X-Files Producer) recent projects of the same or similar name.
The book details the relationship between Ted and Eisenbud, and the extensive effort that Eisenbud went thru to carefully document and study how Ted was able to imprint his thoughts on to Polaroid instant Film. Ted passed away on December 30, 2006, with Loving care by his friend Tammy in Quincy Il.
