Leonardo is the son of Ted Serios.

He was born in 1965 when his mother traveled to Denver CO while Ted was working with Julies Eisenbud.  After Leo’s parents separated in ~1967, Leo did not see Ted again until 1998 when he was 33 years old. Oddly enough, Leo indicates he always felt a strong connection with Ted despite their dramatically different lives and experiences; in fact Leo also struggled with alcohol for many years as well and now is well into 13 years of sobriety.

Photography has always been a part of Leo’s life and the mystery of Ted and his work provided a creative background to which he responded throughout his photographic and creative exploration. Leo received his first camera at age seven and his photography has evolved from the most basic to highest tech.

Today Leonardo uses a digital camera to enhance his creative process.  All of Leo’s work is the product of what is there, with a minimum of post production processing, perhaps some adjustments to color and brightness or the addition of sepia tone, but kept as simple as possible to retain the integrity of the moment.

A deconstruction of photo-realism.  Documentary photography transformed into landscapes of the subconscious twilight, permanent realm, inner and outer space, the micro and macro.

Leo’s work represents a conscious and subconscious effort to present an aspect of the twilight realm, or the realm of the permanent, the unconscious consciousness. Opening to the non-duality of conscious authenticity as paintings, with light as the brush and paint, and our collective experience as the canvas.
